BARBARA ANN FEATHERSTONE On November 23, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, Barbara passed away. Barbara's memory will be cherished forever by her son CJ, daughter-in-law Carla and grandchildren, Cassidy and Ayden. Michael, Mandy, Chris, Madeline, Carla's family, Barb's family in the United States and many friends will also miss her dearly. Barbara was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 21, 1950. She graduated from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing and also obtained an Associate of Science Degree. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army and was part of the medical staff for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 1986, Barbara came to Canada where she continued her love of nursing at the St. Boniface Hospital, Village Clinic and for many years volunteered with both the Canadian and Manitoba Hemophilia Societies. In 1994, Barbara joined the Misericordia Health Centre and was responsible for creating the vision and concept of Health Links, the first telephone triage service in Canada. For this achievement she was nominated for a YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Award. After living in Winnipeg for 20 years, Barb proudly obtained dual citizenship when she officially became a Canadian. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her generosity, wit and kindness. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Asher, Cheryl and Laura who have been so helpful and compassionate. Thank you to Chaplin Pascale, all of the doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals for the wonderful care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, R3T 0R3, would be appreciated to honour Barb's love of animals. All I have seen teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen. - Ralph Waldo Emerson Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 224 - 1525
